DAMASCUS, (ST)_The Minister of Electricity Ghassan al-Zamil and Russian Ambassador to Syria Alexander Yefimov in Damascus reviewed on Wednesday common projects between the two friendly countries.
The two sides underscored the need to enhance the joint work in the sector of electricity and remove the obstacles that hinder its progress.
Al-Zamel affirmed the importance of implementing the contracts that have been agreed upon as soon as possible.
For his part,, Yefimov expressed his country’s readiness to support the electricity sector in Syria.
He talked about the necessity of developing joint cooperation and following up the implementation of joint projects that serve the interests of both countries.
The General Electricity Institute follows up the measures of signing contract with Russian company to rehabilitate the second unit at steam-electric power station of Tishreen that will back the power network with around 200 megawatt.
