Mashqita, is a town in northwestern Syria, located 23 km north of the coastal city of Latakia. Mashkita is a summer resort enjoying very beautiful fascinating nature, overlooking striking landscapes. It is located on the road between Lattakia and the famous Kessab resort. Mashqita also characterized by its mild weather in summer and winter, and fresh air.

Mashqita was initially a Syriac town, is one of the oldest towns as studies indicate that  the word Mashqita is a Syriac word uttered “Msqita” which means the irrigated land; indeed, Mashqita is characterized by its abundance of wells and springs.

Tourism in Mashqita is very active because nature enjoys a mixture of blue shades from the Seven Lakes mix with the greenery mountains and forests (see also the Syrian forests that are covered with pine trees, oaks, oaks and others, such as the Sheikh Ayyub forest, Noah’s forest, and many other forests. Mashqita, with its breathtaking splendor, is one of the most central touristic destinations and summer resorts in Syria.

Mashqita is a unique place combining wonderful charming mountainous and costal nature with refreshing atmosphere. There are three hotels in Mashqita in addition to many motels and chalets prepared for vacationers. There are a number of restaurants, casinos, and rest houses that overlook forests and lakes, captivating sights to a mountainous area covered with bushes and evergreen forests, few kilometers far from Mediterranean seashores.
