Moscow, (ST) – Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov affirmed that, the main task of his country is to prevent the destabilization of its allies in the Central Asian region.
In an interview with “Russia 24” channel, Lavrov said that, the main task for us is the stability of the Central Asian countries because our borders with our allies in Central Asia are open and there is no visa system with almost all of these countries.
Lavrov added that, first of all it is necessary to prevent destabilization in neighboring countries and to reduce the threats of terrorism and drug trafficking from Afghanistan.
Last week, Lavrov called on Afghanistan’s neighboring countries to prevent any presence of US and North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) forces on the territories of this country. He stressed that, the alliance bears responsibility for the deep crisis that Afghanistan is going through.
