Damascus (ST): “The Adventures of Tota” is a children’s story collection that includes five stories for the puppet theater for early childhood stages, recently published by the young writer Elissar Al-Asaad.
The collection signed by Al-Asaad within the activities of the Syrian Book Fair currently being held at the Al-Assad National Library aims, according to its author, to familiarize young people with scientific thinking and to nourish their visual sense that has been drained by smartphone screens with attractive graphics and colors.
In a statement, during her signing of the group within the Young Scientists Pavilion at Dar Al-Hafiz for Printing and Publishing, Al-Asaad indicated that Tota’s adventures are the first of her works and she seeks through her a behavioral goal of instilling positive values and behaviors in children, taking advantage of her educational specialization.
She pointed out that the character on which the adventures in her collection are based is a doll named Tota who lives with her grandparents and navigates the world of childhood to teach her peers a set of human values and life skills in each adventure through the events she reviews.
Al-Asaad considered that the Syrian Book Fair, in its new look, was an opportunity to launch its first works, as it includes a group of local publishing houses and targets different segments of society so that its collection of stories reaches the largest number of readers.
