on the Anniversary of the Kafr Qassem Massacre: Palestinians stress they will continue unabated resistance

Occupied Jerusalem (ST): During their participation in a demonstration in the town of Kafr Qasem in the occupied Palestinian territories in 1948, to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the victims of the massacre committed by the Israeli occupation in the town, thousands of Palestinians called on the international community to stop the continuous crimes of the occupation against the Palestinians and hold those responsible to account.

Palestinian media reported that the demonstration organized by the People’s Committee to commemorate the massacre started in the morning from the town square towards the memorial to the martyrs, where the participants laid wreaths and raised the Palestinian flag, chanting slogans denouncing the crimes of the occupation and stressing the continuation of struggle and resistance until the restoration of all the legitimate national rights of the Palestinian people.

Kafr Qassem massacre, which was committed by the occupation forces on the twenty-ninth of October 1956, which resulted in the injury of 31 Palestinians and the death of 49 others, most of them women and children, is but one of the crimes of ethnic cleansing that the occupation continues to commit against the Palestinians to displace them and seize their lands amid the silence of the international community and its failure to respond and take any effective measures that compel the occupation to implement the resolutions of international legitimacy and stop its violations, despite the continuous Palestinian demands of the UN and the Security Council to act.

The Palestinians in the occupied territories of 1948 commemorate every year the anniversary of the massacre with demonstrations and events in which they stress their attachment to their land and their steadfastness in the face of the occupation’s attempts to forcibly displace them from it.
