Syria, Oman review cooperation in the field of preserving museums’ collections

DAMASCUS, (ST)_Cooperation between Syria and Oman in the fields of culture and the rehabilitation of museums’ collections was discussed on Thursday by the Minister of Culture Loubana Mshaweh and Omani delegation headed by Jamal Bin Hasan Al-Mosawi, Secretary General of the Oman National Museum.
 
According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), the Syrian-Omani meeting focused on signing an agreement to be attached to a previous one on the continuity of preserving the Syrian antiquates that were damaged throughout the years of war.  
 
The meeting also dealt with opening the exhibition of Omani Antiquates in the National Museum in Damascus next Monday and the horizons of cooperation between Syria and Oman in the field of preserving museums. 
 
Mshaweh pointed out that Al-Assad Library lent The Manuscript of the Navigator Ibn Majid to the Omani National Museum, which mended it and displayed it in Oman.
 
For his part, Al-Mosawi referred to the fact that Damascus hosted the exhibition of Oman, which included activities for six months, asserting Oman’s readiness to exchange experiences with Syria.
