Turkish-backed terrorists impose levies on farmers, confiscate locals’ properties in Afrin, north of Aleppo

The Turkish-backed terrorist groups continued with their aggressive practices towards Syrian citizens in the city of Afrin, north of Aleppo. The terrorists imposed high levies on the farmers and owners of olive presses that almost equal the value of their olive crop for this year.  They also confiscated the properties of some locals in this area.   

Since the beginning of the current olive harvest season, the terrorists of the so-called “Al-Jabha Al-Shamiya” group, which is backed the Turkish occupation, have imposed levies on farmers and owners of olive presses in the villages of Kafrjanneh, Ma’reen, Jalbal, Qastal Jandu and Maryameen in the occupied city of Afrin in the north of Aleppo, local sources told SANA. They added that the levies ranged between 30%- 50% of the value of the olive crop.
