Al-Basel Exhibition for Creativity and Invention begins today

 The Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, in cooperation with the Syrian Inventors Association and the General Organization for International Fairs and Markets  partnership and Syriatel, is currently organizing  Al-Basel Exhibition for Creativity and Invention.

 

The exhibition activities will take place  within the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at Damascus University until the 28th of October. It includes 276 works by participants from Syria and Iraq who put designs and inventions in several axes.

Shafiq Al-Azab, director of commercial and industrial property protection, said in a statement to SANA that money prizes will be distributed to the first winners from each axis  with symbolic prizes to the rest of the winners. The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) will also distribute two prizes for the distinguished, according to the opinion of the Scientific Research Committee, and honorary shields for the participating and sponsoring bodies.

Al-Basel Exhibition  aims to encourage creators and inventors to continue their scientific achievements and develop their inventions, of taking benefit of these inventions and putting them into practice in a way that serves the goals of economic development in Syria by investing capital in following up the national creativity and innovation process.

It is worth noting that the first Al-Basel exhibition was launched in 1992 and continued to hold its annual activities  even during the years of the terrorist war on Syria.
