New towns and villages in Daraa northern countryside join settlement agreement

Dozens of gunmen, wanted people and military service deserters from several areas in Daraa northern countryside have settled their legal status in implementation of the settlement agreement proposed by the Syrian state to perpetuate security and stability in Daraa province.

According to SANA reporter, tens of gunmen, wanted people and military service deserters from the town of Mahajjeh and the villages of Al-Faqee’, Asem, Al-Mtelleh, Al-Zarayer, Jadal and Sour in Daraa northern countryside came to the settlement center, established by the authorities in cooperation with the Syrian army in Mahajjeh town, to settle their status.  

The move comes within the framework of the settlement agreement proposed by the Syrian State to end terrorism and restore normal life in Daraa, teh reporter said.

Commenting on this move, Head of the Municipality of Mahajjeh tow Nidal Houshan said “the state opens its arms to embrace all its citizens, who were misled, and seeks settling their status so they can return to their normal life.”  

Many locals expressed satisfaction over the move which indicates the success of reconciliation efforts and confirms the state’s credibility about forgiving those misled people who settled their legal status, stressing that all citizens should cooperate with the state to protect the homeland.
