White House admits US base in Al-Tanf was exposed to drone attack

The White House admitted that the US base in Al-Tanf area in the eastern countryside of Syria’s Homs was targeted with drones and missiles.

The White House Press Secretary Jan Psaki in a briefing on Friday said that the US military’s Central Command said that “Al-Tanf base was subjected to a deliberate and coordinated attack”, pointing out that preliminary reports say that the attack was conducted by drones and missiles.

“We haven’t received any information about casualties or injuries among the US soldiers and investigation into the incident is underway,” said Psaki, pointing out that Washington reserves to what she called the “right to respond”.

On Thursday, the US Central Command confirmed that the Al-Tanf base was targeted by a drones attack and affirmed that it will “defend itself at any time and place” it chooses.
