El-Sisi: Egypt, Greece and Cyprus reject some regional parties’ attempts to violate Syria’s sovereignty

ATHENS, (ST)_Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has asserted the adherence of Egypt, Cyprus and Greece to  Syria’s territorial integrity and regional safety.
 
El- Sisis’s remarks came in a joint press conference held on Tuesday in Athens with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and the president of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades following the tripartite summit between Egypt, Greece and Cyprus.
 
He underscored the need to confront the threat of terrorist organizations , expressing rejection of the attempts of some regional parties to impose a fait accompli by violating Syria’s sovereignty and imposing demographic changes in some Syrian areas. 
 
“We stressed the importance of confronting the threat of terrorist organizations thus the Syrian people could then restore security and stability,” the Egyptian president said. 
 
For his part, the Spokesman for the Egyptian presidency Bassam Radi declared that the  ninth trilateral summit between Egypt, Greece, and Cyprus focused on developing cooperation at economic, political and cultural levels and the efforts of combating terrorism and extremist thinking. 
 
He pointed out that the three countries agreed on exchanging viewpoints and strengthening coordination regarding issues related to stability in the region, mainly the Palestinian cause, Libya’s file, the situation in Syria and the way of supporting Lebanon.
