Sheikh Al-Gharib: Al-Saleh’ struggle against Zionist enemy is an example of Golan people’s resistance of occupation
BEIRUT, (ST)_Sheikh Aql Al-Moslemen Al-Mowahhedin in Lebanon Sheikh Nasreddin Al-Gharib has mourned the liberated prisoner Medhat Al-Saleh, who was martyred last night when the Israeli enemy targeted him when he was returning to his house in Ein Al-Teneh area in Quneitra countryside.
He declared on Sunday that the martyr had confronted the Zionist enemy and had refused to abandon his Syrian nationality despite the pressure that was exerted on him.
Sheikh Al-Gharib offered condolences to the family of the martyr and to the Syrian people in the Golan as well as to the Syrian leadership, asserting that the Israeli enemy will be defeated thanks to the sacrifices of martyrs.
The martyr Medhat Al-Saleh was born in 1967 in Majdal Shams town in the occupied Syrian Golan. He was arrested for the first time by the Israeli occupation in 1983 and then he was released.
In 1985, he was re-arrested and spent 12 years in the Israeli jails.He founded the committee for supporting prisoners after he was released in 1997.
In 1998, he was elected as a member of parliament. He occupied the position of the director of Golan Office in the cabinet.
Israeli occupation tried to assassinate him in 2011.
He was married with one son. The name of his son is Golan.
