Liberated Syrian prisoner Midhat Saleh martyred by Israeli fire

The Liberated Syrian prisoner and former Member of the People’s Assembly Midhat Al-Saleh was martyred on Saturday after the Israeli occupation forces opened fire on him while he was returning to his house in Ein Al-Tineh site, opposite to the town of Majdal Shams in the occupied Syrian Golan, SANA reporter in Quneitra said.

Al-Saleh was born in 1967 in the occupied town of Majdal Shams. He was detained by the Israeli occupation forces twice, the first time was in 1983 and the second time was in 1985 over charges of belonging to the resistance. He spent 12 years in the occupation jails before he was released in 1997.

After his release, he worked hard to establish a committee for supporting Syrian prisoners and detainees in the Israeli jails.

In 1998, he was elected as a member of the People’s Assembly (parliament) for the occupied Syrian Golan.  

Al-Saleh was exposed to several assassination attempts by the Israeli enemy, including an attempt in 2011 when the occupation forces opened fire on his home in Ein Al-Tineh. However, these attempts strengthened his will on keeping steadfast and on adhering to his land.
