The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Al-Miqdad separately met on Thursday with Serbian Ministers of Construction, Transport and Housing Tomislav Momirović, and State Minister of Economy Dragan Stevanović.
The talks dealt with bilateral relations between the two countries and means of enhancing them, according to the Syrian News Agency (SANA).
The two sides affirmed the need to exchange visits and seal new agreements that reflect the two countries’ keenness on the best relations between them. They also asserted the importance of strengthening political, economic and cultural relations and activating the economic agreements signed by the both countries.
In the same context, Al-Miqdad stressed the importance of bilateral historical relations between Syria and Serbia, which date back to many years, since the establishment of the Non-Aligned Movement in 1961, reiterating Syria’s support for the territorial integrity of Serbia.
Al-Miqdad expressed admiration for the achievements made by the Serbian people in various fields.
For their part, the two Serbian ministers expressed their appreciation for Syria’s resilience in the face of the conspiracies it has been subjected to during the past ten years.
They underscored Serbia’s readiness to support the reconstruction process in Syria.
