Miqdad: Syria’s achievements in the war on terrorism are the reason for changing the international political atmosphere towards it
Damascus (ST): Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Dr. Faisal Miqdad, affirmed that Syria’s achievements in the war on terrorism and the sacrifices made by its people in order to preserve the sovereignty, strength and territorial integrity of their country are the reason for changing the international political atmosphere towards it.
Al-Miqdad stressed in an interview with Al-Souria and Al-Ikhbariya channels last night that Syria is determined to eliminate terrorism in all its lands and will not give up any part of its lands, and the American and Turkish occupation forces must withdraw from the lands they occupy, pointing out that the main objective of the aggression against Syria is to change the political reality. But Syria thwarted the plans that were prepared for it.
Miqdad explained that after the achievements made by the Syrian Arab Army in its war on terrorism during the past ten years, it was necessary to continue work on several axes, the first of which is to emphasize that the war on terrorism continues as long as there are terrorist groups, whether in the northwest of the Idleb region, which is supported by the Turkish regime or In the north-east, armed groups sometimes take a separatist character and are supported by the United States. The second axis is the suffering that the Syrian people are going through as a result of the economic siege and the measures taken by the United States and Western Europe to impoverish it. This suffering is a direct result of the economic terrorist policy practiced by the United States and the European Union on Syria the Syrian people will bear catastrophic consequences.
Miqdad indicated that the change in international attitudes came after Syria won the war that was waged against it thanks to its army, leader and resistant people, so that the picture changed completely as a result of these achievements that were achieved in various parts of Syria, in addition to the inability of the regimes in the region and the inability of the countries that were supporting terrorism in Syria to implement what they planned after they found that there is no way or possibility except to acknowledge these achievements and victories and to negotiate with the government of the Syrian Arab Republic about the future of the region and the future of the world as well as a result of the victories of the Syrian people over terrorism and the willingness of the people and the Syrian Arab Army to sacrifice in exchange for preserving the sovereignty and independence of their country.
Miqdad pointed out that the delegations that the delegation of the Syrian Arab Republic met with in New York were saying: We did not imagine that Syria would withstand tens if not hundreds of thousands of terrorists who were exported by Western Europe, the United States and some regimes in the region to Syria to find a new reality that would allow the Israeli occupation entity to dominate the region completely, indicating that the main objective of the aggression against Syria is to change the political reality, and its enemies believed that they would be able to accomplish this task within hours and days so that months and years would end without being able to implement their plans for which they spent hundreds of billions of dollars, but Syria foiled all these charts.
Miqdad stressed that the American occupation forces must leave Al-Jazira region, whose people are an integral part of the social, humanitarian and economic life in Syria.
Miqdad said: All United Nations reports about Syria’s use of chemical weapons are false and the aim is to put pressure on Syria, which condemns the use of chemical weapons anywhere, anytime and under any circumstances.
In response to a question about Syria’s return to the Arab League, Miqdad said: Syria should not be outside the Arab ranks. The decision was taken without Arab consensus, and there are many Arab countries we met with that say that Syria’s natural place is on its Arab side. We did not remove Syria from the League and there were circumstances that led some to take such an inappropriate decision.
