Al-Khasawneh calls for cooperation between Jordan, Syria and Lebanon to serve the interests of the three countries
Jordanian Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh has affirmed his keenness on cooperation between Jordan, Syria and Lebanon to serve the interests of the three brotherly countries.
During his meeting with Syria’s Electricity Minister Ghassan Al-Zamel and the Lebanese Minister of Energy and Water Resources Walid Fayyad, Al-Khasawneh expressed his country’s readiness to provide necessary support for Lebanon, according to the Jordanian News Agency Petra.
Talks during the meeting dealt with the steps that are taken to speed up the delivery of the Egyptian gas as well as electricity to Lebanon through Jordan and Syria in order to help Lebanon confront the energy crisis.
The Jordanian prime minister was briefed by the three ministers on the efforts exerted to complete preparing necessary infrastructure inside the Syrian territories in order to transfer gas and electricity to Lebanon.
Earlier in the day, the ministers of energy and electricity of Syria, Jordan and Lebanon held a meeting during which they agreed on a work plan and a timetable to re-operate the electrical grid between the three countries.
