People in occupied Golan recall details of October Liberation War

The people in the occupied Syrian Golan on Wednesday commemorated the 48th anniversary of October Liberation War, whose battles took place over the land of Golan and during which the Syrian Arab Army achieved a major victory over the Israeli enemy.

The people in Golan are eyewitnesses to this victory. They recalled the battles in Jabal Al-Shaykh (Mount Hermon), Baq’ata and every town in the Golan, during which the Israeli occupation turned the houses of the Syrians into military bases and used the residents as human shields.

Fares Oweidat, from the occupied Syrian town of Majdal Shams, recounts some details about these battles. He said that when the Zionist military ruler came to the town and asked the residents to leave their houses in order to seize them and bring in the Israeli tanks to the neighborhoods in the towns of Majdal Shams, Baq’ata and Mas’adeh, the locals bravely resisted the occupation’s attempts.

Sheikh Jad Al-Karim Naser, on his part said that the locals in the town of Baq’ata confronted the occupation’s attempts to enter its tanks, while the fighters of the Syrian army were going ahead with battling the occupation and liberating the occupied villages and towns, inflicting heavy losses on the occupation forces.

The liberated Syrian prisoner Sidqi Al-Maqt, on his part, said that the October Liberation War, which was planned by late leader Hafez Al-Assad, has proved the strong determination and will of the Syrian soldiers to liberate all the occupied Arab territories.

The Syrian Army, which achieved victory and liberation in October War, can also achieve another victory against the current schemes plotted by Syria’s enemies, Al-Maqt stressed.

The people in the occupied Golan saluted the Syrian army forces and the martyrs whose blood watered the land of the Golan, wishing speedy recovery for the wounded army personnel and complete victory for Syria over aggressors.
