Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Ayman Susan, affirmed that Syria is open to everyone in order to establish good relations, and that everything it is doing is based on its principles and on serving the interests of its people, not on pleasing any party. There are public and undeclared contacts with the aim of developing relations with other countries..
In an interview with the Lebanese Al-Manar TV channel on Monday, Susan noted that the changes in relations between Syria and other countries are a new indication of the change in the general situation. They express the desire to create an atmosphere of calm on the international scene, which positively affects the situation in the region and the international arena as well as in Syria.
Susan indicated that Syria did not withdraw from the Arab League. Rather, there was a wrong and illegal decision to suspend its membership in it. Once this error is corrected, things return to normal.
Susan pointed out that this positive atmosphere has been prepared for since the meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Joe Biden in Geneva in mid-June, in addition to the continuous meetings between officials from both countries, which would achieve breakthroughs in the international arena and the region.
Susan stressed that any change that occurs is due to Syria’s victory with the help of its allies over the American project directed to the region as a whole in the service of Israel’s interests.
Susan pointed out that the phone call between President Bashar Al-Assad and King Abdullah II of Jordan completes the series of communication and meetings between Syrian and Jordanian officials in Amman and New York and comes as a normal state of relations between the two brotherly countries.
Susan considered that the so-called American democracy is the imposition of wills on others, and this is far from democracy. He called on American politicians to return to reading Wilson’s principles to realize that the political decision in any country in the world is the property of the people of that country and not dependent on the outside.
Susan described the improvement of relations between the countries of the region as a positive step, pointing out that Syria aspires to have relations with the Arab countries in the best condition because this enhances its strengths.
Susan stressed that Syria is close to achieving a final victory over this global war that it has been exposed to during the past ten lean years.
The Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates stressed that liberating large parts of the Syrian lands from terrorism and defeating it, in addition to the faltering of Western project against Syria is a real victory for the Syrian people.
Susan confirmed that the American military presence in Syria is linked to the American project, and as long as this project falters, this presence loses its efficacy.
Regarding the Turkish occupation of some Syrian lands, Susan stressed that there is no option or arrangement for matters other than the Turkish withdrawal from all Syrian lands, because this presence is an illegal occupation, and Syria has full legitimacy and entitlement to liberate its lands according to international charters and laws.
