Syrian, Iranian officials meet on the sidelines of Exp 2020 Dubai, discuss economic, investment and tourism cooperation

Syria’s Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Mohammad Samer Al-Khalil and Iran’s Deputy Minister for Tourism Ali-Asghar Shalbafian on Saturday met on the sidelines of the Expo 2020 Dubai, UAE, to discuss cooperation and coordination between the two countries in different economic and investment issues. The meeting was held at the Syrian pavilion in this six-month world event.

 Shalbafian expressed his country’s willingness to effectively participate in Syria’s reconstruction process and in the restoration of the Syrian archaeological and tourist sites which were exposed to vandalism due to terrorism in Syria. He also expressed Tehran’s readiness to carry out tourism investment projects in Syria through building and equipping new hotels.

The two sides agreed on exchanging visits so as to deepen trade, tourism and economic cooperation.

 In the same context, Al-Khalil and a number of other Syrian officials visited the Algerian pavilion in Expo 2020 Dubai and discussed with representative of the Algerian side bilateral relations and prospects of cooperation in different fields.
