312 children and teenagers participate in the final stage of the programming marathon

Damascus (ST):  About 312 children and teenagers from different governorates participated in the final stage of the programming marathon for children and teenagers for the year 2021, which is organized by the Virtual University and the Excellence and Creativity Authority within their digital development project for young people and youths.

 

According to a joint statement of the Virtual University and the Excellence and Creativity Commission, the final stage tests took place over four continuous hours for the two categories of children and youths in the accredited virtual university centers in Damascus. It aims to measure the optimal performance to solve several software issues formulated in the form of a game that the contestant is required to implement using the graphical programming language “Scratch”, in addition to issues for logical and computational thinking, and issues in the scripting language “C Plus Plus”, taking into account the level of complexity for each age group, and the results will be announced this evening in an official ceremony at the Ebla Sham Hotel and the Umayyad Conference Palace.

In its stages and training, the marathon targets children aged between 8 and 11 years, and teenagers aged 12-15 years.
