Moscow calls for intensified efforts to combat cross-border terrorism

Moscow,  (ST) –  Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov called on the security services of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS)countries to take urgent steps to prevent the infiltration of terrorists and other criminals into the territories of these countries.

 During a meeting he held in Tashkent with his Uzbek counterpart Neamatullah Yuldashev, Krasnov said, according to Interfax News Agency that, “we witness a noticeable increase today in the risk of infiltration of persons involved in terrorist activities and acts of extremism into the CIS.” He added that, this matter requires greater coordination of efforts aimed at detecting and seizing them at the places where they cross the borders.

According to a statement issued by the Russian Prosecutor General, Krasnov indicated that, there is a real danger of resuming large flows of drugs and weapons from the territories of Afghanistan.
