Al-Miqdad meets expatriate group representing Syrian community in the U.S.

NEW YORK, (ST)_ The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Al-Miqdad briefed a group representing the Syrian community in the US on the efforts being exerted by the Syrian government to restore security and stability all over the country and rebuild what has been destroyed by terrorism in a way that contributes to the return of the displaced and refugees to their houses.
 
During a meeting with some members of the Syrian community in America on Tuesday, Al-Miqdad talked about the negative impacts and inhuman repercussions of the economic siege and sanctions imposed by the US and other Western countries on the Syrian people which cause  suffering to the Syrian citizens on different levels.
 
The minister also listened to the obstacles that face the Syrian community in the US in  consulate transactions because of the closure of the Syrian embassy in Washington by the US Administration. He presented solutions that could be applied to solve this matter.
 
For their part,  the members of the Syrian community thanked this initiative and expressed their appreciation for the Syrian army’s in defeating terrorism and the efforts exerted by the Syrian government to provide the basic needs for Syrian citizens inside Syria and abroad.
