A Syrian film wins the Best Editing Award at the BIMIFF Festival in Brazil

Hasakeh (ST): The short film “Mazaja” (the wood patch)    won the Best Editing Award during its participation in the BIMIFF Film Festival, which was held in Brazil recently.

The film, which was produced and edited by Bashar Al-Dhalli and directed by Thaer Ibrahim, presents a set of memories of the hero of the film that fluctuated between joy and sadness.

Al-Dhalli explained in a statement to news reporters that “Mazaja” is an experimental narrative short film that documents psychological cases and depicts life observations transmitted by the camera lens to the hero of the film in cooperation with director Ibrahim.

He pointed out that the name of the film is derived from the wood patch on which the artist puts different colors to draw the full painting, stressing the importance of participating in this festival and its role in providing the opportunity for young people to express their innermost and disseminate the cultures of their societies in the world.

He believed that winning the award was a source of joy and encouragement to continue production and strive to achieve consecutive successes, noting that the film “Mazaja” had previously won second place at the Gothenburg Arab Film Festival in Sweden for the experimental film category.

It is noteworthy that Bashar Al-Dhalli is a director and presenter on Al-Sanabel Radio, a short film maker, a montage coach, a theater actor, author and song performer, who has received many local honors and participated in many theatrical, radio and television works.
