Miqdad meets the Indian Foreign Minister. Jaishankar: We are committed to supporting Syria in the fight against terrorism

New York (ST): Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates  Dr. Faisal Miqdad discussed with Indian Foreign Minister Subramaniam Jaishankar in New York ways to advance bilateral relations in various fields.

The Indian minister explained his country’s desire to enhance economic cooperation, stressing its continuation to provide possible assistance to Syria to alleviate the suffering of the Syrian people, stressing India’s firm commitment to respecting Syria’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity and its support for Syria in the fight against terrorism.

In turn, Dr. Miqdad expressed Syria’s appreciation for India’s supportive stances for Syria and the assistance it provided, pointing out that Syria attaches great importance to developing relations with India, especially in light of Syria’s policy of heading east.

The two ministers exchanged views on some developments on the regional and international arenas and the need to maintain continuous consultation and coordination between them.
