A wide variety of agricultural products made by women displayed in a market for rural women’s products opened yesterday in the Directorate of Agriculture in Al-Baath City in Quneitra

The Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Eng. Mohamed Hassan Qatana, affirmed during the opening of the market the ministry’s support for small and micro enterprises and family projects regarding manufacturing products, especially agricultural ones, as they provide a financial source for the family and secure reliable and good quality agricultural products.

The market provides a space for displaying and selling  rural women’s products, including dairy products, household supplies of olives, makdous (eggplant pickle), aromatic plants, saj bread, woolen clothes, juices, different kinds of pickles, and others.

During a meeting with those concerned with the agricultural sector in the governorate, Minister Qatana was briefed on the reality of agricultural production, the production requirements, and the problems that hinder the development of agricultural work. The attendees stressed the need to increase the support offered to this sector and to provide sufficient quantities of fuel and fertilizer.

Minister Qatana stressed the importance of the optimum investment in human resources and mechanisms available in the Directorate of Agriculture in Quneitra. He asserted the necessity of assigning workers in the guidance unit to communicate with farmers to find out their problems and help them to overcome the obstacles hindering their work as well as to benefit from the water dams that are spread on the land of the province.

A number of women participating in the market showed their satisfaction with the opening of a market to display their products in a way that contributes to marketing them at competitive prices.
