“No to Turkish and American occupation”: Demonstrators in Syria’s Qamishli

The Syrian Communist Party’s branch in Qamishli on Friday organized a demonstration to protest against the American and Turkish occupation of Syrian territories and against the closure of schools in Hasakah province by the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) militia.

Demonstrators raised placards condemning the illegal presence of the American and Turkish forces in Syria and the provocative practices of the SDF militia which continues to loot Syria’s oil and other internal resources to deprive the citizens from their wealth. They also condemned the SDF’s closure of government-affiliated schools in Hasakah and its crime of kidnapping many youths to recruit them within its ranks.

“We are taking part in this demonstration to express our rejection of the US and Turkish occupation which have caused insecurity and instability in Syria,” a demonstrator said, pointing out that the scarcity of bread and fuel in the areas controlled by the US-backed SDF militia and by the Turkish-backed terrorist groups is an inevitable result of the presence of the occupation forces, their mercenaries and affiliated terrorists.
