The first activities of the “Venus Cultural Forum” started within the poetry festival “Welcome Autumn”, which was held by the Cultural Center in Al-Zahraa neighborhood in Homs today.
The poet “Bahija Khaddour, founder of the forum, which includes a group of poets and writers, most of whom are from the educational staff, said that the forum aims at enriching the cultural movement in Homs and prove the role of women in cultural affairs, in addition to encouraging young literary and artistic talents.
During the festival, Khaddour recited a poem entitled “Welcome Autumn”, in which she described the month of beginnings and endings, and the first rain, where life is renewed, while the poet “Mona Al-Rayes” read a love prose poem where she used the simple direct method to express her feelings and goals.
The poet Taleb Najm presented the poem, “Salute to Nizar” in which he highlighted the great poet Nizar Qabbani and his high literary standing.
Member of the Arab Writers Union, the poet “Futon Al-Hassan”, participated in a prose reading entitled “The Mirror of September”, where the blossoms of dream and the paths of longing and imagination are manifested. In her reading, she seemed to sew a dress for September that attracts to the mind a lot of ideas and inspirations.
The poet “Sabah Al-Abdullah” had a sentimental prose poem entitled “The Autumn of Life” in which she summarized her wishes to sail with her eternal dreams to reach the shore of safety and love that she has always sought. While Dr. Madeleine Tannous read a poem entitled “September,” where she talks about the month of September and its reflection on herself.
The Love poetry had a strong presence at the festival, where the poet “Muhammad Ali Bilal” participated in the poem “Hope of Meeting,” in which he described the charming details of the moment of meeting the beloved. The poet Shahd Nasser presented a prose text titled “A Handful of Spirit,” in which she wove a story of pain and suffering that the month of September carries, as this pain returns every year with the return of September.
A number of promising young talents participated in the forum, as We’am Ba’rini, who presented a thought entitled “Welcome Autumn,” and Lama Khaddour, who participated in an article about fall season entitled “Fusouls wa Mizan,” where the contradictions of this season were revealed.
