DAMASCUS, (ST)_Syria has condemned the Turkish aggressive acts and violations of Syrian territories, stressing that it reserves its right of retaliation which is granted by the constitution and the Syrian national laws and the principles of the international law.
The Syrian News Agency (SANA) quoted a source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates as saying that the Turkish acts are aggressive acts and breach Syria’s sovereignty and independence.
It pointed out that these acts are part and parcel of the aggressive acts that have been practiced by the Turkish regime since more than 10 years and target stability and security of a neighboring country (Syria).
The source indicated that the government of the Party of Justice and Development support terrorisms and black-listed terrorist groups and insists on violating Syria’s sovereignty and challenging UN resolutions.
“The Turkish regime supports armed terrorist groups in Syria by all means, facilities their movements and terrorist activities, occupies parts of the Syrian territories and displaces residents of these areas, steals and loots antiquities and natural resources, destroys and loots infrastructures and public and private properties, goes ahead with breaking the agreement of the level of the water that flows from the Euphrates river to Syria, cuts off drinking and irrigation water that reaches residents in northeast Syria and purposely sabotages and stops power stations that depend on the level of water that come from the Euphrates river,” it clarified.
The source referred to the meetings held between the Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar, who illegally entered the Syrian territories, and the ringleaders of armed terrorist groups in the northern countryside of Aleppo.
It called on the UN Secretary-General and the UN Security Council to adopt clear stances towards the Turkish regime’s aggressive practices, saying that the stances must come within the UN resolutions that assert the respect of Syria’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence besides the principle of good neighbourliness.
“Syria reserves its right of retaliation which is granted by the constitution and the Syrian national laws and the principles of the international law and of putting an end to these Turkish practices and shouldering the Turkish regime the financial, legal and political responsibilities in accordance with the relevant principles of the international law,” the source concluded.
