Damascus (ST): The Syrian inventor, Dr. Shadi Al-Khatib, won the first place in the field of medical innovation, to be among the ten most distinguished young people in the world for the year 2021, in the competition held by the Junior Chamber International (GCI).
In a statement to a news reporter, Al-Khatib explained that he succeeded in the competition in the medical innovation category, by participating in a number of patents he obtained in the field of medicinal herbal treatment, indicating that the competition is annual and is held worldwide for young people who have an impact on their societies in several areas, including medical achievement, the business sector and the economy, humanitarian achievement, technological achievement, cultural achievement, personal achievement, self-development, and academic achievement.
Regarding the nomination mechanism, Al-Khatib said it depends on the selection of ten candidates by the local chambers in the countries at the national level, then twenty candidates are selected from all the candidates in the world through specialized international committees.
Al-Khatib is a representative of the universities of Damascus and Al-Manara, the executive director of natural products and medicinal plants companies in Syria, and the head of the Scientific Society of Medicinal Herbs, Complementary and Homeopathic Medicine, and Nutrition.
