The meeting of the Ministers of Petroleum and Energy of Syria, Jordan, Egypt and Lebanon kicks off in Amman
Amman, (ST) – The meeting of the oil and energy ministers of Syria, Jordan, Egypt and Lebanon, hosted by Jordan, began in the Jordanian capital, Amman, today.
According to the Jordan News Agency (Petra), the meeting will include Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Bassam Tohme, Jordanian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Hala Zawati, Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tariq Al-Mulla and Lebanese Minister of Energy and Water, Raymond Ghajar.
The meeting, which will be held at the invitation of the Jordanian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, aims to discuss ways to enhance cooperation to deliver Egyptian gas to Lebanon through Jordan and Syria.
A few days ago, Syria agreed to the Lebanese side’s request for assistance in passing Egyptian gas and Jordanian electricity through Syrian territories to Lebanon, during a session of Syrian-Lebanese talks held in Damascus.
