The People’s Assembly holds its annual office elections, Hamouda Sabbagh wins the position of Speaker of the Assembly

On September 5th, the People’s Assembly (Parliament) held its first meeting from the fourth special session of the third legislative role and allocated for the elections of the annual positions for Parliament.

Hamouda Sabbagh won the election as the Speaker of the Parliament, Mohammed Akram Al-Ajlani won the election as the Deputy Speaker with 171 votes to 15 votes for the candidate Raafat Kar and 9 votes for candidate Nasser al-Nasser.

Salloum al- Salloum and Mashayal Saleh, Ameni, won election as secretaries of the Parliament. 

Mohammed Suleiman Al-Awdash and Faiza al-A’athbah won the election as the observers of the Parliament.

The Parliament agreed to postpone the discussion of the draft laws containing the final account of the State Budget for Financial Budget 2014, 2015 and 2016 to the fourth regular session of the third legislative role scheduled for this month. 

In a speech at the end of the session, Sabbagh said that this fourth special session was allocated for the elections of the annual parliament offices and discussed the government statement.
