Syria sends letters to international humanitarian organization on Israel’s violation of Syrian citizens’ rights in the occupied Golan

DAMASCUS, (ST)_Syria has appealed to the international humanitarian organizations to  press Israeli occupation authorities to stop violations of Syrian citizens’ rights in the occupied Syrian Golan and to immediately intervene to enable them to return to their towns.

“Upon the request of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, the Syrian permanent mission, sent letters to the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and to the International Committee of the Red Cross in Geneva, demanding to put pressure on the Israeli occupation authorities to stop their illegitimate practices against the Syrian citizens in the occupied Golan and to guarantee its compliance with  its international legal obligations under the Geneva Conventions, said the statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatiates on Thursday.

The Ministry urged the permanent mission to raise the issue of the violations of the Israeli occupation authorities against the occupied Syrian Golan citizens, particularly preventing travelers outside occupied Palestine who left for the purpose of study, work or any other reason from returning to their cities and towns in the occupied Syrian Golan and to address the concerned authorities at UN Organization and other international organizations in Geneva regarding this humanitarian issue in order to protect the occupied Syrian Golan citizens from the occupation practices.

The letters of the mission called on those sides to immediately intervene and enable those Syrians to return to their towns in the occupied Syrian Golan as soon as possible and without imposing any preconditions, according to the Syrian News Agency (SANA).
