US-backed SDF militia impedes education process in several schools in Qamishli

The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Militia on Tuesday prevented the administrative and teaching staff of several schools in the neighborhood of Tai in the city of Qamishli from entering their workplaces.

This SDF behavior comes within its aggressive and repressive practices towards the locals in the areas under its control.

Director of Hasakah Education Ilham Soukhan said in a statement to SANA that SDF patrols prevented the teachers and the administrative staff of three schools in Tai neighborhood from entering their work place to prepare for the start of the new academic year.

The schools are Ibin Sina secondary school as well as Gaza and Faisal Hassi elementary schools.

The damage done to the education sector in Hasakah province continues as a result of the violations continuously committed by the SDF militia which forcibly seizes the schools and turns them into military headquarters for its militants.

The SDF militia tries to impose a certain curricula that are different from that of the Syrian Education Ministry. The move received strong rejection by the locals who insist on sending their children to government schools.
