DAMASCUS, (ST)_Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Bashar Al-Jaafari received on Tuesday the Acting Head of Mission of the UN Truce Supervision Organization (UNTSO), Alan Doyle, and the accompanying delegation.
The talks between the two sides dealt with the work of the mission and the importance of its role, according to the Syrian News Agency (SANA).
The agency reported that Al-Jaafari affirmed Syria’s support for the mission’s work which comes within the framework of implementing its mandate since its establishment in 1948, especially as it is an eyewitness of the violations of the Israeli entity of the truce line.
Al-Jaafari asserted that the mission must carry out its tasks in terms of conveying the facts and the realities to the UN Security Council and other United Nations bodies, especially the re occurring Israeli attacks and the violations of the truce agreement which pose a threat to peace and security in the region.
For his part, Doyle thanked Syria for its support and cooperation with the mission in order to implement its mandate in the required way.He referred to the continuation of the work of the mission to consolidate security and stability in the region.
