Russia and Jordan affirms their countries’ support Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity

Moscow, (ST) – Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi affirmed their countries’ support for Syria’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity. They also reiterated their support for a political solution to the crisis in Syria.

In a statement issued by the Russian Foreign Ministry reported by RT website, the two foreign ministers exchanged views on current issues on the regional and international agendas, and paid special attention to the situation in and around Syria. They affirmed Moscow and Oman’s support for Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and expressed their support for the urgent settlement of the crisis in Syria on the basis of UN Security Council Resolution 2254.

 According to the statement, the two ministers also discussed enhancing bilateral cooperation in various fields based on the mechanism of the Russian-Jordanian joint intergovernmental committee concerned with developing trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation between the two countries.
