Tehran: We have only seen politicized words and statements from America and the European parties

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh affirmed that Iran wants the nuclear negotiations to go in the right direction, stressing that the most prominent problem facing these negotiations is the non-compliance of the European and American parties to the nuclear agreement.

Khatibzadeh said in a press conference today, “We call on the European parties to abide by the nuclear agreement, for the negotiations are currently just a process of attrition… and since its exit from the agreement, America has not pledged anything, and we have seen nothing from it but words without actions, and we have seen nothing but politicized and tendentious statements from the West.” regarding the nuclear deal.

With regard to the response of the assassination of  martyr Qassem Soleimani by the United States, the Iranian spokesman said, “We will not allow the assassination to pass without a response… We will respond at the appropriate time and follow up matters in international courts.”

On the situation in Lebanon, Khatibzadeh said that Iran “cannot be satisfied with witnessing the suffering of the Lebanese people and will help them by securing fuel if the Lebanese government requests it.”

Regarding the situation in Afghanistan, Khatibzadeh said, “We continue contacts with all Afghan parties and stand at the same distance towards them, and we consider the political solution to be the most effective for this country.”

He added, “Afghanistan can reach safety if a government is formed with the participation of all parties, and we call for solving the Afghan crisis through political channels and paving the way for negotiations between the Afghan parties,” stressing that the occupation wasn’t a solution to the problems of this country.
