Winners of gold medals in the “Jareeh Al-Watan” (the Wounded of the Homeland) Sports Games have stressed that exercising improves the psychological and health condition of the wounded personnel, as it raises their spirits and helps them restore normal life through accessing the world of sports and achieving victories.
In a statement to SANA, some of the wounded athletes expressed their happiness for accomplishing major successes in these competitions, stressing that “winning gold medals is an incentive that encourages us to continue training and preparing well to achieve major victories and more medals at international competitions so we can raise Syria’s flag at international sports events as we did in the battlefield alongside our fellow soldiers in the Syrian Arab Army during the fight to eliminate terrorism.
They called on their fellow wounded persons not to surrender, but to do any kind of sports or any type of social or cultural activity that helps them be effective in society.
They hailed the Jareeh Al-Watan games event as a distinguished initiative that benefits all the wounded persons and helps them challenge their injuries, turn their pains into gains and get introduced to new friends.
