UN calls for an investigation into the Turkish regime’s recent airstrikes on Iraq
New York (ST)_ The United Nations expressed its deep concern over the air aggression carried out by the Turkish regime forces on a hospital in the city of Sinjar in northern Iraq last Tuesday, which resulted in civilian casualties, calling for an urgent investigation in this regard.
A number of Iraqi civilians were killed or wounded in an air bombardment by the Turkish regime forces on a hospital in the city, allegedly “targeting PKK militants.”
The United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq, “UNAMI”, said in a statement posted on the United Nations News Center website: “We are following with great concern the dangerous security developments in northern Iraq, and we regret the loss of life and many injuries as a result of the raid.”
The UNAMI mission called for a “rapid and complete investigation and accountability for civilian deaths and injuries,” calling for respect for the principles of state sovereignty and territorial integrity.
