Kabul (ST)_Anti-Taliban protests renewed in a number of Afghan cities for the second day in a row in defiance of the movement that seized power a few days ago and raised its own flag over government buildings.
The Associated Press reported that a convoy of cars and pedestrians gathered near Kabul airport carrying huge black, red and green banners in honor of the Afghan flag, and similar protests took place in Nangahar and Kunar provinces.
The movement imposed a 24-hour curfew in Khost province, after it violently dispersed an anti-protest. The protests coincided with Afghanistan’s independence day from the British occupation.
