Terrorist groups targets military car in Daraa, leaving casualties

DARAA, (ST)_Terrorist groups have targeted with an explosive device a military vehicle affiliated to the Syrian army in the western countryside of Daraa, leaving casualties, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).

The agency said that the attack which occurred today came after more than one-month-long continuous attempts made by the Syrian state to reach a peaceful settlement to restore stability and security  to Daraa Al-Balad neighborhood and some other areas in the western countryside of Daraa.

“Military personnel, who were on board, were martyred and injured,” SANA added.

The terrorist groups also today opened fire at border guards’ points along Syria-Jordan border which had been crossing points for smuggling weapons and foreign-backed terrorists before the Syrian army restored stability to these points in 2018.

Recently, the Syrian army deployed forces into several areas in Daraa province to control the situation and to end the suffering of the residents from the acts of the terrorist groups, who target safe areas with mortars, explosive devices and heavy machine guns , killing many civilians and military personnel.

On August, 5, 2021, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates issued a statement in which it condemned the incitement and hypocrisy campaigns launched by the British government and the EU Establishment regarding the situation in Daraa province, stressing that these campaigns come within the context of their known hostile policy to Syria and supporting terrorism.
