Al-Jaafari: What happened in Afghanistan is a lesson to all peoples of the world

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Bashar Al-Jaafari has described the American policy as fragile, weak and immoral, stressing that what the Americans have done in Afghanistan they have done several other countries.

“What happened in Afghanistan is a lesson to all peoples of the region and the world, a lesson stressing that the Americans cannot be counted on anywhere. This can be applied to all parties without exception, including the parties inside Syria that are still counting on the Americans,” Al-Jaafari said in a statement to the local “Al-Watan” Newspaper published on Tuesday.

Al-Jaafari reiterated that the US military presence in Syria is an occupation pursuant to the International Law and the UN Charter.

He affirmed that the withdrawal of the US troops from this country in such a sudden way indicates the failure of the US schemes in the region.

“The United States has never learnt from its mistakes throughout its history. Today and after 20 years of military presence in Afghanistan, it withdraws and leaves the country, though, we are certain that the Americans have an agenda and that they certainly have plans to explode this region after their departure, but their withdrawal in this sudden way indicates that their schemes have failed in this region,” Al-Jaafari added.

He pointed out that “the Americans had been claiming to be fighting Taliban terrorism for twenty years, and suddenly we saw them having talks with this terror organization in Doha, Qatar and even reaching an agreement and a month later they decided to withdraw.”
