Syrian Arab army eliminates several terrorist ringleaders in Der Ezzour, Raqqa, Daraa provinces

PROVINCES,(ST)_Several quarters in  eastern Der Ezzour province have seen intense fighting between units of the armed forces and foreign-backed terrorist groups who lost today many of their ringleaders in  northern al-Raqqa province, according to official sources.

The fighting raged in quarters of al-Jbeleh, al-Sena’a, Sinama Fouad, Hwija, al-Mre’eyeh, Jesr al-Seyaseh and al-Bosa’ed in Der Ezzou city which resulted in eliminating three ringleaders and an unknown number of gangsters.

An official source confirmed that  the ringleaders killed in the said areas are among the most dangerous terrorists in the province.

The number of  ringleaders killed has risen as the armed forces shelled a hideout in which terrorist ringleaders were meeting in al-Manakhir area in al-Raqqa province, around 138km to the west of Der Ezzour.

Another shelling targeted a hideout in  eastern al-Kark in Daraa province leaving two terrorist ringleaders and several gangsters dead.

In this context, a military source stated that the shelling coincided with the cracking down on the armed terrorist groups in the  towns of al-Shabraq, al-Nasereyeh and al-Na’ema.

It added that tens of terrorists died in a quarrel which broke out among them in al-Mzereb area in the same province (Daraa) over who would be the ringleader.

Meanwhile, the armed forces crushed snipers and confiscated weapons in a series of operations which targeted terrorists’ hideouts in eastern Ghouta and  northern Damascus countryside.

Army finds tunnel east Damascus countryside

The army also discovered two tunnels linking Jobar with al-Qabon and Zamalaka areas. The tunnels had been used by the terrorists to store weapons and sneak from one area to another.

This discovery was essential as it cuts off supply lines to the remaining terrorists in the three areas.

Elsewhere, it was reported that dozens of al-Nusra Front-linked terrorists were killed and many of their hideouts and weapons were destroyed in Aleppo province and in northern Lattakia countryside.

Shells hit residential areas in Damascus and Aleppo

In another incident, terrorists fired mortar shells at al-Amara quarter and Cyril church in the capital as well as at al-Midan quarter in Aleppo province.

The first shell hit a citizen’s home near al-Sadat Mosque in al-Amara quarter leaving  a child wounded and serious damages at the scene.

The second hit the church causing material damages with no casualties.

While the other two shells landed in al-Midan quarter in Aleppo claiming two lives and leaving several others wounded.

On the other hand, the engineering units defused today morning a 2kg-weight booby-trap planted in a car parking near Opera House in Omayyad square in Damascus.
