Hope in life

Investment of time and transforming it after retirement into fruitful days are the goals that brought together craftsman and women, who created the most beautiful art pieces with different techniques and materials and showed them in an art exhibition in the Arab Cultural Center in Abu Rummaneh.

Craftsman Fawaz Al-Shaarani makes form of wooden boxes and panels engraved with Arabic calligraphy. He said that he started with this work to invest his time after retirement and benefit from it in a fruitful and useful manner.

Hanadi Mahmoud participated in a variety of straw works that combined ancient and modern methods, in addition to recycling leftover yarn and accessories, considering that manual work brings money.

The craftswoman, Abeer Bakir, participated through exhibiting flowers made of copper and crystals in different colors.

She pointed out that she started this work a year and a half ago, based on her experience in handicrafts in order to benefit from the time in a positive way.

The craftswoman Faten Al-Shayeb made through the hand loom different pieces such as table covers and wall paintings, noting that she has been practicing this craft for 15 years because it gives her positive energy and hope.

Wafaa Abdullah participated in the name of Dar Al-Karama for the Care of the Elderly, through the participation of elderly people and people with special needs. The works included woodwork, embroidery and gypsum vases, indicating that these works, despite their simplicity, fill the time of the elderly and make them feel their presence.

Rabab Ahmed, director of the center, confirmed in a statement to SANA that the exhibition was distinguished by its diversity, richness and the multiplicity of materials used, noting that it is an elaborate homework that combines creativity and art.

She pointed out that the works included in the exhibition showed that Syrian women are productive and active, that art does not stop and creativity continues as long as a person is alive and loves life.
