Israeli occupation continues to challenge international legitimacy resolutions in occupied Palestine: report

The Israeli occupation presses ahead with implementing its plan to Judaize Islamic and Christian sanctities and expand settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories, showing complete disregard for international legitimacy resolutions and the International Humanitarian law amid the deadly silence and inaction of the international community.

In its weekly report published on Saturday, the Palestinian Liberation Organization’s (PLO) National Bureau for Defending the Land and Resisting Settlements said that the Israeli occupation has announced a plan to build a settlement bridge that links the Al-Buraq Wall, the western fence of Al-Aqsa Mosque, to the mosque with the aim of facilitating raids by the Israeli forces and settlers on Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock Mosque.

According to the report, the occupation forces have started digging operations in the vicinity of Al-Ibrahimi Mosque in the city of Al-Khalil to build a settlement road and bridge that will facilitate settlers’ attacks on the mosque and pave the way for the seizure of its courtyards as well as the historical sites in its vicinity to Judaize them.

The report also said that the occupation announced a plan to establish 2200 new settlement units on Palestinian lands in the cities of Al-Quds, Al-Bireh, Nablus, Bethlehem, Qalqilya, Ramallah and Salfit in the West Bank. It razed swathes of Palestinian land in Nablus and Al-Quds to establish settlement roads that connect between the settlements built on the land of these two cities and those built in the Palestinian territories occupied in 1948 with the aim of implementing the occupation’s colonialist annexation scheme.

Moreover, the report indicated that the occupation has intensified house demolition operations in the occupied territories.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has documented the demolition of 421 Palestinian buildings by the occupation authorities since the beginning of this year, said the report, pointing out that 81 of these buildings are located in occupied Al-Quds and the rest are located in different parts of the West bank.

These aggressive acts led to the displacement of 592 Palestinians including 320 children, the report clarified, indicating that demolition operations have increased at a rate of 24 % compared to the same period last year.

Last week, the report said, the occupation forces demolished a residential building in the Bir Ayoub neighborhood in Silwan town in addition to 7 houses in the town of Beit Hanina in occupied Al-Quds, which led to the displacement of dozens of Palestinians. The occupation forces also demolished agricultural and commercial facilities in the towns of Al-Walaja in Bethlehem, Yatta in Al-Khalil, Al-Labban Al-Sharqiya in Nablus and Ya’bad in Jenin, the report added, pointing out that the occupation also delivered notifications about demolishing several facilities in the towns of Al-Kheder and Taqou’ in Bethlehem.

As for the Israeli settlers, the report said that attacks on Palestinian towns and villages in the West Bank continue by the Israeli settlers under the protection of the occupation forces.

According to the report, the settlers seized several areas of Palestinian lands in the village of Ein Yabrud in Ramallah to establish a new settlement outpost. They stormed the archaeological sites in the town of Beit Ummar, north of Al-Khalil, cut down dozens of perennial olive trees in the lands of the village of Al-Jaba’ in Bethlehem and prevented Palestinian farmers from reaching their lands in the village of Kafr Ra’i in Jenin.
