24 wounded personnel from the Syrian army and supporting forces arrive in Russia for further medical treatment

Within the framework of cooperation between Syria and Russia in the military and medical fields, 24 Syrian wounded personnel from the Syrian army and back up forces arrived in Russia to undergo surgeries and receive multi-specialty medical treatment at the Saint Petersburg Center of the Russian Military Medical Academy.

The move comes under the request of the Syrian Defense Ministry for providing medical treatment to dozens of persons who were seriously wounded in battles with the terrorist organizations in Syria, and who received preliminary treatment at Syrian military hospitals.

Over the past period, a group of specialists from the Russian military medical services centers have conducted diagnostic tests for more than 100 wounded persons. They identified the medically difficult and complicated cases that can be followed up and treated at the Saint Petersburg Military Medical Center.

Cooperation with Russia on sending wounded soldiers to the Russian Federation for further medical treatment will continue and the Russian side will continue sending medical teams to Syria for evaluating and diagnosing critical cases.
