The first shipment of basic equipment arrives at Aleppo Thermal Power Plant

Aleppo (ST): The first shipment of basic equipment needed to rehabilitate the Aleppo Thermal Power Plant has arrived, as its installation has begun to complete the rehabilitation process.

The Ministry of Electricity indicated in a statement published today that the equipment included control systems, boiler feed pumps and their oil coolers, in addition to rehabilitating the entire medium tension system in the station and maintaining the fifth generator parts.

The ministry pointed out that the arrival of equipment to the Aleppo power station coincides with the arrival of a shipment of equipment to the Rastan power plant project in Lattakia, in the context of the government support provided and in implementation of the Ministry of Electricity’s strategy to rehabilitate power plants damaged by terrorist sabotage.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Electricity signed, last January, a contract with a company from friendly countries to rehabilitate the first and fifth groups in the Aleppo thermal power plant, which contributes to supplying the electrical network with up to 400 megawatts at a cost of 123 million euros.
