Zakharova comments on British statements regarding the elections in Russia

Moscow (ST): Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova confirmed that Britain has demonstrated its double standards through its stance on the elections in Russia and the United States.

The British delegate to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, Neil Bush, said, “Moscow’s determination of the number of observers that the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) can send to the upcoming Duma elections will make it impossible to evaluate the elections in a credible manner.”

Commenting on the statement of the British representative, Zakharova said on her Telegram channel: “Where was Neil Bush and the entire British Foreign Office  when the “ODIHR” team was formed for the US presidential election 2020 “in the epidemiological situation.”

The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe recently announced that it would not send observers to accompany the Russian Duma elections scheduled for next September, “due to Russia’s request that the Organization limits the number of observers against the backdrop of the epidemiological situation.”
