Iraq: An attempt to blow up an electric power tower in Anbar thwarted

Baghdad (ST): Iraqi forces thwarted a terrorist attempt to blow up an electric power tower in Anbar province, west of the country.

Alsumaria News quoted a security source as saying: “Based on intelligence information, a force from the “29th  Infantry Brigade” thwarted yesterday evening an attempt to blow up an electric power tower in Heet, Anbar Governorate,” adding: “Two locally made adhesive packages attached to a mobile device were found near one of the towers and dismantled.

The electric power transmission towers in the governorates of Salah al-Din, Kirkuk and Nineveh in northern Iraq were subjected to terrorist attacks that affected 13 towers during the past 48 hours.
