Syrian-Czech archeological mission kicks off excavations at Tal Al-Shamiyah site in Lattakia

The joint Syrian-Czech archeological mission started its excavations and study works at the archeological site of Al-Shamiyah (Nahr Al-Arab) in Lattakia.

This archeological place is one of the important sites in terms of its geographic position and its relation with the Kingdom of Ugarit and the Syrian coast in general.

A Syrian national mission had worked in this site several times and it managed to discover a settlement that dates back to the modern Bronze Age and the Second and Third Iron Age.
