Syrian Arab army advances in Jobar suburb and Bab Hod quarter

PROVINCES,(ST)_Most areas of Jobar suburb, just 2 Km (1.2miles) to the northeast of Damascus are now under the Syrian Arab army’s control amid reports of smoking out foreign-backed terrorists  from several buildings in the central Homs province.

An official source declared on Tuesday that  units of the armed forces restored stability and security to soap factory, transport center, Music center, slaughterhouses, bakeries, pullman square, Syriatel center, and 75% of al-Manasher square in Jobar quarter.

It added that all terrorist groupings and their weapons were destroyed in the said areas.

Qualitative operations outside the capital

At the same time, many terrorists including snipers and mercenaries from Libya were eliminated in a series of qualitative operations targeted their hideouts in  eastern Ghouta and in  northern, westerns and southern Damascus countryside.

The operations were launched outside the capital as several buildings in Bab Hod quarter in Homs province became under the army’s control.

“The buildings, located west of ‘Abdullah bin Mas’oud’ Mosque had been used by terrorists as hideouts to store weapons and shoot  citizens,” an official source said.

It noted that the armed forces pounded a hideout of terrorist groups in the municipality quarter in al-Hesn town outside Tal Kalkh city (in Homs).

In Aleppo province, the armed forces continued targeting hideouts of al-Nusra Front-affiliated terrorists in several quarters and towns. An unknown number of terrorists was reportedly crushed in the province.

Smuggled weapons spark quarrel among terrorists

Other terrorists died during quarrels which broke out among them in Bestan al-Qaser and Tal Ref’at areas in Aleppo, and in Sha’qra town in  southern Daraa province over splitting money and weapons smuggled from Turkey and Jordan.

Shells hit al-Tadamon and al-Kabbas areas in Damascus

In another incident, locals told the Syria Times that a mortar shell landed today at 9:00 am (local time) in Nesrin Street in al-Tadamon suburb in Damascus claiming two  lives.

The shell  fired by terrorists left at least 10 citizens wounded (including children) and massive damage at the scene, according to an official source.

 The wounded were admitted to Damascus Hospital.

In the evening, the Syrian TV channel reported that at least three citizens were martyred and 13 others wounded when three mortar shells landed in the residential al-Kabbas area in Damascus.

“The terrorist attack left damages at the scene,” an official source said, pointing out that other three shells landed in al-Abbaseyen surrounding and in Fares Khouri Street in Damascus. No casualties reported.   

Last night, terrorists fired several mortar shells on a branch of the insurance establishment and sugar  establishment in Bab Hod quarter in Homs causing serious damages at the scenes.
